The problem with the way guns are discussed/used in the Anita Blake books, is that the information is FACTUALLY correct, it's way off base in terms of PRATICAL usage. I believe in Affliction she was stated to carry at least 5 firearms, 3 pistols, a long rife and a shotgun all by different manufactures and at least 2-3 different kinds of ammo. A Logistical NIGHTMARE since clips and ammo are not universal between weapons so she would need to find a way to carry all that extra ammo in such a way to it would be easy to find and load in a high stress situation and NOT get the clips mixed up. She also stated she needed to carry all this stuff because she was a Marshall. Lets not get into that Anita has neither the height or the body type to comfortably carry all this crap.

My quick checking on what LEO's carry (especially in a SWAT Assault situation) is usually have two (and only TWO) weapons, a Primary depending on the role in the unit, and a secondary (usually a pistol) and maybe a non-lethal weapon.
