I was raped when I was really young, and it manifested later in rape fantasies. But, you know, I recognize that that's the reason behind them, and don't let my fantasy life cross over into my actual sex life. I think where LKH goes wrong is encouraging her characters to "vent" those sort of unhealthy feelings, and acting like that's the best way to fix them, rather than being the worst possible thing someone could do about it.

What I wonder is, what does she mean by rough sex? Is he abbusive to the girls? Does he want them to abuse him? Or is it just like the rest of LKH's "rough sex," where the worst that happens is that someone gets a hickey and some scratch marks?
