Ah, I love the snarkage!

New to the community (obviously, heh), and just thought I'd say hello. ^_^ It's such a *relief* to come across a community where one can discuss the downward spiral of LKH's writing without fangirl whining (or Netspeak. ::smirk:: ). I've just been sort of cruising the previous posts here, and you guys always discuss valid, *intelligent* issues with the "writing" (yes, I use that term loosely...), it's not *just* a snark-fest aimed at LKH herself.

Although the snarkage *is* absolutely top-notch. It's just...intelligent snarkage. ;)

Anyway, you get my drift, this community is a haven for the disillusioned LKH fan!

I'm Lyss (short for Melissa), and I've been reading LKH since the early days. When I got into the series, I believe Circus of the Damned was the latest book. So, yeah, quite a longtime fan, just like most of you. And, also like the rest of you, I'm currently so disgusted and embittered with the current state of AB that I only continue reading out of some warped, twisted fascination. Sort of that "just how bad *can* it possibly get?!" deal. Maybe she's right, and we're all masochists. ;P Anyway, I *tried* to like the newer stuff. I really, truly did. I even tried to like Micah, and Housebitch!Nathaniel. Honestly, I tried.

Needless to say, no dice. ::smirk:: The disillusionment that began with NIC was plowed all the way through with ID. Wretched, wretched book. I do believe that's the *first* book I ever threw across the room out of pure, bitter disgust. Honestly, was the animal sex *really* necessary? Were 95% of the fucking *sex scenes* really necessary?! Ugh. I won't even get started, you've all been over this before.

Remember when we used to follow LKH willingly down every blind plot corner, because we just *knew* that she'd make it good somehow? Yeah. I miss that. Now we dig in our heels, shrieking and struggling in horror, when she tries to take us to the grocery store. :P Those were the days, kids.

Anyway, good to be here! All of you kick ass, I'm looking forward to contributing to the snarkage. ^_^
