I'm glad to see that Janet Evanovich has her head on straight when it comes to who's in charge of the story. It's a very refreshing change from the way LKH takes dictation from her imaginary friends. If only LKH could learn this.

Still, I stopped reading the Stephanie Plum series after the first few books. While it was (very) amusing at first, the fact that Stephanie never gets any better at her job got to be grating eventually. You can only make the same amateurish mistake so many times before it goes from charmingly naive to stupid.
