As a long time role player and DM/GM, I will put characters I'm writing about through mental psycho-dramas and scenarios, to see what happens in specific situations. However, I always keep them true to their individual personalities/beliefs.
I might run them through the same scene several times, making different choices each time, to see how they might change as individuals - but NEVER do they dictate what I write.
