I've got Nickelback's SILVER SIDE UP on the head phones.

Now, I know Nickelback is not the bestest band on the planet, and if Chad Kroeger's ego gets any bigger his head will almost certainly explode (which I would pay to see *g*), but I have to feel some affection for them being as at least half of the band is from my home province of Alberta.

And she is tainting them, just by admitting that she listens to them. *snarls* Isn't it bad enough that I can no longer listen to my beloved Three Days Grace without having terrible mental images of what Anita was doing in LKH's head while the album was playing? Must she ruin Nickelback for me as well??

Aaarrrggghhh!!

I'm kinda surprised she's not ranting on about the Marquis de Sade and his works, because...that's kinda more the style of things she kinda wants to be writing. Except, the Marquis could actually spell. And his works have some relevance with today as much as it did way back in the day. And his are readable. And...
Yeah, I wondered myself, why she hasn't noticed him already. But who knows, maybe it's either too hard or to intellectual for her. And she could have problems with the femal main character and rape (considering all the rape scares in her books).

Considering that pretty much all the baddies are TEH EBIL because they're omg sexual sadists and rapists (which is how we can tell that they're OMG TEH EBIL!) - you'd think that there'd be one Sadean sadist in there, challenging everyone's views. But...hmm, maybe it would be a little too hardcore and intellectual for A) the author and B) some of the audience. Still, it'd be nice to have the brain tickled by something like that.

It would be one way to fix the series, because suddenly, the big bad evil whatsit would be really EVIL and not...umph....sometingh like stupid!evil. Or worse: a poor misguided soul, who was horrible abused/ whatever as a child/ vampire/ whatever and turned evil (like Asher or half of the council) or a leader, who didn't knew better (like the werewolf leader in New Mexico).
Considering rape: I don't think, that LKH could write a scene, where Anita suffers rape. There was only one scene, that came near it (Laughing corpse? The book with the Dominga Salvadore woman) and each and every rape threat against Anita was less dangerous after that one. (Like the one with Gabriel, where he cuts the ropes first and gives her a weapon) There were other rape victims, but only two real rape descriptions (Vivianne and Peter, Sylvie was found after the rape) and the one with Vivianne was pretty short and not extremely horrendous....what I want to say is, that she uses rape different than any Sadean sadist would do.
OK, I stop babbling, I still have some work to do, before I can go to bed;)
