A quick blog flog

http://blog.laurellkhamilton.org/2007/12/phouka-in-office-and-in-snow.html

Just when you thought it was all going to the dogs...

LKH in Bold me rolling my eyes.

So the first half of the blog was rather boring, going on about her many dogs. Something interesting to note, however, is that this Phouka seemingly 'lost' her (I think it is a she) her tags, and then was found at the neighbor's house and was reluctant to return. Even her pets want to flee from her; however, I'm glad that she seems to take good care of them at least. Micro-chips, tags, pet beds, etc.

Anyway...onto the more fun part.

I've gone through the edits for BLOOD NOIR. Tomorrow begins the real work.

A) Edits?? Oh LKH you tease you.
B) Real work? Is this the part where you go through and actually take the edits seriously?? Oh wait, I'm sorry, I'm confusing you with a real author. How foolish of me.

I guess she hasn't been feeling well and she went to the doctor, and so that's what the tail end of this blog is referring to.

I'm a workaholic, not stupid.
I'm just going to let this comment stand, no flogging necessary.

Modern medicine is a lovely thing. Though watching HOUSE might convince you otherwise. It's one of the shows that we don't let Trinity watch with us, but frankly, sometimes I think HOUSE is too grown-up for me.

First off, this woman really needs to learn how to italicize.
Secondly, there are 5 year olds more grown up than LKH I'm sure, ones even willing to admit they are wrong even.
Lastly...THIS WOMAN RUINS EVERYTHING I LOVE! The music I like, the movies I see, and now the television I watch.

Urrrg, the only reason she feels like its too grown up for her I'm sure is because she knows that if House had read her tripe she wouldn't last two minutes under his barrage of sarcasm and ridicule. Which even if you don't like the show, you have to admit it would be very satisfying watching House knock her down a peg or several.

Then she goes to on to say how real doctors probably hate House, because that isn't how real medicine works. Like how the police hate CSI and etcetera and she ends on this line...

Even when you know it's wrong, it feels so right.
I wonder if this is the attitude she takes toward writing? It would surely explain a lot.

Fin.

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm actually going to defend LKH. Dear God!

Professional writers use all caps when naming the title of something, like a book or a show. Not all of them do, I'm sure, but many do, and so do their agents, and so do their editors. LKH is doing okay by using the all caps. (I think I've harped on this here before. Oh well.)

Two, the image of her little blind dog sitting quietly against a wall until someone finds her just makes me want to weep. It's very, very poignant. LKH may be a horrible writer, but she does seem to really care about her dogs. Poor little pug. Disoriented and patiently waiting for help. My cat was like that just before she died. It's very sad.
