I've never read MG but if this was the main story I'd certainly read it! ^___^ Your version seems way more interesting than LKH's version. Maybe you should write a urban fantasy series with this premise (different characters and all). I love faerie themed books (urban fantasy), but unfortunately most authors go for the vampires. That's why I like the Dresden Files so much! ^^
