I just came across this community today and am so glad to see others writing the same critiques that I've done in my personal journal.
This comment pretty much sums up how I feel about the Anita books: "really infuriatingly insulting." As a bisexual, I just want Jean-Claude and Asher to somehow kill off Anita and sever the ties of the Triumvirate so that JC and (yes, ick) even Richard will survive without a person who obviously has no problem with random sexual encounters but wants to control other people's sexual partners and sexuality. If Hamilton is going to write vampires perhaps she can imagine that they don't think/view the world in 21st century human terms--especially with regards to varying sexualities?
