First of all, welcome and glad to meet you. I'm fairly new here myself, but so far I've enjoyed this community immensely.

Oh yeah. This. And how. I've met people like Anita before and it does not end well. Especially when they enter into the arena of "let's all explore alternative sexual expressions and communities." Bad, bad idea. This will go "Kablooey" right in your face and I don't want to be within 100 yards of it when it happens so...bye. It seems to me that if I can spot this and feel this way after only spending 15 years in the "alternative" community, chances are good that Asher and J.C. would recognize the stink of this when they smell it wafting in their direction as well. And run like scalded...vampires. *laugh* After all, they've had centuries of sex based drama to deal with.
If Hamilton is going to write vampires perhaps she can imagine that they don't think/view the world in 21st century human terms--especially with regards to varying sexualities.
Exactly. It's a failure of imagination more than anything else. It's especially glaring, imho, in the Merry Gentry series which has similar issues with all the beautiful elf men running around but none of them, y'know, doin' each other. It makes me wonder if Laurel K. even knows any gay men. If she does, she should ask one of us what we think of her books. After we're done laughing, I'm sure we could tell her a few things that would doubtless improve the series.
