IIRC, Narcissus miscarried, just like all true lycanthrope women are posited to do in Anitaverse - the change is so violent it forces miscarriage. some weresnakes can lay eggs, so they have children, and some OTHER shapeshifters can avoid shifting so they can have children. this was all talked about in the scene in NiC where all the fringe were-groups come to Anita because their Alphas have been kidnapped...
the were-bear alpha's mate (Amber? not sure on her name) was preggers and on totaly bed-rest trying to keep it, and Christine (the weretiger) mocked her to the other people in the room about, and anita went all faint because even though she doesn't want children she doesn't want to be told she CAN'T. it was a VERY bg deal - and then? disappears until anita thinks SHE is pregnant, and then RIchard wants to marry her and there is this big mess again...
sigh. the whole thing was uglyuglyuglyugly and never properly resolved.
in the lates book it appears that weretigers who stay with other weretiger CAN breed, because they "give their beast" to a male, like anita does when her beast rises - this is supposed to be how she carrys lycanthropy and yet doesn't actually HAVE lycanthropy.
