No, she's not full of sympathy. The only time it comes up is that "[she] tried to put the sympathy on [her] face." But that only happens after Tony's like "I CAN ONLY LOVE ONE PERSON AT A TIME." so...she's...sympathetic that he can't multitask bimbos? I don't know.
There's also a sense of detachment over Tony's state of desperation/grief, which...in the hands of another writer could be awesome to show that Anita's been through so much and is a severely damaged person because she can no longer relate to even the most basic human level on someone that's lost a loved one. But no, she's more suspicious, and then offended that he won't take no for an answer, and then the guys show up and it's happy-laughy time.
