Stop with the thinking, your brain will hurt less. If I go back to stripping back to every little thing that irks me about the books, this write-up would have been ten times longer.
Jason's always been one of my favourites, simply because he actually knows what fun is and doesn't wallow around in angst. He's also turned into the character that has reasonably sage advice (and advice that makes sense!) for the protagonist. It's just that she never does anything about it even after he points out "...you're being an idiot."
He's...possibly one of the most normal characters in the entire books. Actual characters, with personality, not just a name and a description.
