Not that it makes this any better written (it's horrible, how can anyone pay money for this?), but....(TMI warning)

If you deepthroat far enough your epiglottis closes up and there is no air. Nose or otherwise. Breathing on the upstroke sounds workable but starts to fall behind O2 demand fairly quickly. (/TMI)
