(Yes, I know this is very late, but I didn't have puter access for about three weeks and am just catching up on posts.)

My issue here is what her daughter will think when she reads this in a few years (because make no mistake, this WILL eventually get back to her, if only through her little classmates who no doubt endlessly tease her now because her mom writes porn, poor kid). Obviously Trinity still sees her father and must love and get along with him to some degree; how is she going to react when she discovers her mother so viciously slamming her ex in this book? LKH has had her snide little digs at her ex in previous books, but this is really low.

What's with "this next part is a serious spoiler for this book, so stop reading"? Why even bother including it in that case? What's the point of poring your heart out to the reader? Does it increase their enjoyment of the book to mix in your personal problems? (I mean outside of this community. :)) And I'm sorry, but Anita and Jean-Claude sleeping together for the first time is a WHOPPING great spoiler and if I ran across it, say, on someone's uncut journal before reading the book, I would be PISSED. The author herself flinging it casually into the foreward is unpardonable.

Also, the whole "the first man to touch me where a swimsuit touches me" thing just made me burst out laughing. It's just so...preschool. Not even junior high level. It's how you talk to very young children about not letting strangers touch their "bathroom area."

And the LECTURING! Yes, because having sex before officially turning the magic number of 18 (or 16, or insert-age-of-consent) will automatically make you a drug-addicted high school drop-out with a crack baby and syphilis. I'm not saying that it's perfectly fine and dandy no questions asked, but teenagers having sex != END OF THE WORLD. I'm a virgin, but I'm not dead-set on waiting until marriage.
