New LKH Interview

http://www.freewebs.com/enchantingreviews/deesreviews.htm

I love the interviewer's random use of capital letters. She almost reminds me of Anne Rice. Most of this interview consists of things we already knew; I'm posting this only because I find it funny how the woman really didn't seem to know much about LKH.

To my knowledge, I've not won any awards.
*evil laugh* We all know why that is, don't we? ^___^

wow, I liked how LKH was quick to correct the interviewer on comic strip versus comic book. She must have been so annoyed.

Okay, whoever transcribed this interview needs to be shot in the head with blessed silver and rock salt.

Seriously, the powers of grammar compel me.

Then again, since she's interviewing LKH, this is almost a match made in heaven. Or it would, if LKH swung that way.

When I was trying to create Edward I turned on the television in the middle of the day, something I rarely do. "The Day of the Jackal" with Edward Fox in the lead was on. That movie came at the perfect time to help solidify what I wanted my Edward to be like.

I love an author who admits to stealing a character for someone else. Really-I do.

I can't imagine as an author who has been published for what, a good 20 years? that I would want to admit that I'd never won any awards.

Well it has been a year. If LKH is the one who mentions her a lot, you'd think she'd be happy to at least put in a warm word or two. Notice how she doesn't even mention her husband in her refusal to answer. If she talks about them all the time of course people are going to ask.

Well, I have to admit that I was struck by one tiny bit of professionalism in LKH's reply about finding an agent. She asked around, three names kept coming up; one didn't return her call, one had an unimpressive staff and she thought that was a bad sign, so she went with the third.

That sounded remarkably clear-headed and thoughtful of her, more so than I expect from the woman's rants on her blog these days....

I thought messing with agents as an author, even if they aren't yours, is like messing... I don't know an everyday equivalent. I'm pretty sure that it's a community you don't want to get blacklisted or disliked in. Don't piss off publishers, agents etc if you want to be left alone to your success or failure.
