Let's talk about sex, baby...

sorry, a comment to the last post (about Anita and protection) got me thinking...

If I recall correctly, when Anita started with Jean Claude, there was some talk of Vlad Syndrome (and later on something called Mowgli Syndrome if a woman conceives with a lycanthrope in animal form). it was omggod horrible, oh the poor children, yadda yadda yadda.

Has any of this been addressed after those mentions, and what Anita's doing to prevent pregnancy? God knows she's too sparkly and special to get an STD...

(please forgive if this has already been addressed. I did try to find it in the archives, but my googlefu/tagfu has failed me)

I'm coming to this way late, but I remember the rationale for using a condom with JC and any other vampire/lycanthrope with whom Anita fucks. Though both vamps and weres can't catch STDs, if they recently had sex with someone who had an STD the virus or bacteria can be transferred to another partner. That is, if the creepy crawly that causes the STD is still alive on their penis, it could infect another partner.

At the risk of defending LKH, Anita was on the pill even before the pregnancy non-scare in DM, but she only used condoms with new or unfamiliar partners like Byron (in ID?).

I'm pretty sure at the time of the pregnancy scare it was mentioned that Anita was no longer on the Pill because "she never remembered to take it". Which at least is consistent with her total lack of remembering to do things like eat or feed the ardeur.

Anita is definitely a typical TSTL heroine. I think if I was boinking everything alive and undead I'd remember to use birth control and also do anything to protect myself from STDs. That's just me though. I wouldn't think getting the paranormal clap would be entertaining and I'm too old to have pregnancy scares.

I can never understand that. I take mine when I wake up, which right now is much later in the afternoon, but I left my alarm set to 8:30. So I wake up, take the pill, then go back to sleep. Wow, how difficult.
