Oh dear
A tiger calendar, never opened from 2001. Why did I buy a tiger calendar years ago when I wasn't planning on doing tigers? No idea. But I've learned over the years that if I have a real desire to buy something research like that makes no sense to me, to just buy it. Because, one; it won't be there later when you need it.
Packrat much?
Her house must be full of clutter....
Two, because I usually need that book, or picture at the oddest times, but when the need hits it's the difference between looking something up and making my page count for the day, or having to run out to the book store, library, etc . . . Non-mod hat:

Oh, I don't know. Maybe for the reasons those of us with sanity buy calendars—to keep track of our schedules, to have something pretty on the wall, because it was 75% off so why not...
Calendars do not equal research. Not even if they're the swank National Geographic desk calendars with mini-essays.
LKH, not everything has to be for "research". You might want to try a hobby. Like macrame or something. You know, expand horizons and such. Fun = good.
