http://www.laurellkhamilton.org/FanClub/fanclub.htm#Questions
this is the public FAQ of the fanclub
please keep in mind that i have translate it in frequently asked questions that means the quetions appear more than once !
t
Q:I wonder, is Edward gay?"
A:Laurell did tell us Edward is not gay, and that if he is he didn't tell her. Where do these rumors start? Though it could make for an interesting story line: Jason and Edward? Nah!
How many of these guys are reading the books ? gay edward "head desktop"
Q:How do I reach....?
A:Jean Claude, Richard and the other characters are not real people, they exists only in Laurell's imagination. Laurell does not base her characters on real people. Darn, we were hoping for an address!
scary scary ,run screaming
we know from the blog that LKH consider this character as real (and let dictate them the books) but i was hoping she was the onlyone !!!!! with that illness
Q:So do you personally.....?
A:No inference should be made by any of the topics or traits of the characters about Laurell or her lifestyle. She does lots of research on any of the things she covers, it does not mean she has a personal interest in any of them, nor engage in any of the activities depicted.
Ha Ha Ha Ha ha
Q:Where are the "real" vampires?
A:No, Laurell does not believe she is a vampire, nor does she know of any "real" vampires or other preternatural creatures. She is an excellent writer with a vivid imagination and that's as close to real as she gets. But hey isn't it fun to speculate?
No she believe only that JC, Asher , Daimen ... are real

I bolded the part that REALLY SCARES ME. Seriously...as awesome as Edward is, he is a FICTIONAL CHARACTER.
Though I must admit I'd die of glee if Edward ended up gay or even bi. And had wild sex with one of Anita's boys. And Anita walked in on them and was horrified at Teh Ghey.
I would laugh so hard. (pun intended)
She does lots of research on any of the things she covers,
For one, NO SHE BLOODY WELL DOES NOT. Two, she's publicly admitted she does some'a the shit she writes. Three, based on how she's portrayed BDSM, she's FUCKING CLUELESS.
A:No, Laurell does not believe she is a vampire, nor does she know of any "real" vampires or other preternatural creatures.
*puts on Scary Crazy Person hat* Actually there is a subculture of people who consider themselves genuine real live vampires. Not the "I'm dead and suck blood" way, but the "I'm spiritually hollow somehow and feed off of the energy/aura/et cetera of others." I know this 'cause I know a gal who is, indeed, part of this subculture, and while it may be easy to dismiss them all as ravening lunatics, she and her fellows were actually quite polite, intelligent, well-read and very down-to-earth. There are entire books written by and for their subculture, though I personally only skimmed it because I really am not deeply into it all.
So, if LKH researches as she claims she does, how is she unaware of the spiritual vampires, which are considered a strange but relevant class of "otherkin" by Therians and the like?
Okay, so. *takes off Crazy Person hat*

There's also, of course, the very real psychological problem where people DO believe they're vampires and that they DO have to feed off of blood to survive. Which, when you gets down to it, basically means they are vampires, even if they don't have powers or anything.
And, of course, there's always lawyers and politicians ::grin::

1-Edward is probably whatever he has to be at any given time period. If Laurell wasn't weirdly against homosexual sex, we would probably have a hint or two at some point.
2-Maybe everyone's just confused by the fact she acts like they're real?
3-...she does some SUCK research. I'd much rather she were involved in a bunch of kinky orgies, personally, because at least then she'd understand them better.
4-O.o Well, give her another year or so and I bet that that answer will change, considering the rate her delusions are going....

No, we wouldn't. We learned in ID that Gabriel and Raina raped Richard, and you think there would've been some hint of a trauma like that at some point prior. The characters are what LKH needs them to be at any given moment. LKH's dictionary doesn't contain "characterization" or "consistency."

Anyway, not that I'm defending LKH or anything, I just think that if LKH was better about gay stuff than there'd be a lot more in this book. As someone who's been in slash/yaoi fandoms for half my life, I can definitel pick out all the points where a more gay-friendly author may have added some mention of gay sex in there.
