Does anyone here plan on giving The Harlequin a chance? I've read a few good reviews and the teaser was so much better than anything she's put out in a long, long time. It makes me wonder if she might possibly redeem herself with this one?

This is off topic, I know, but I'm just so relieved that Rhode Island isn't just some figment of my imagination and I'm the only person here.

I do, I do, I do believe in Rhode Island...

I went to Rhode island once. On a class trip, to a pretty little fishing town. Oh, and I had a boss from there (although she sounded a bit Bostonian). If that helps. ^__^

Whoa! They're dragging people from other states to our lame little historical villages now? Gosh, we've hit new lows.

Maybe it's more interesting if you haven't lived there your whole life.

Not sure what part of the state you're from, but you should see Newport in the summer. For some reason, we attract Floridians. o_0

And the tourists are like geese. They show up in late spring, make a lot of noise, hold up traffic, shit all over everything, then leave for six months. And you can't shoot the geese OR the tourists.

Dude. I'm from New York. That trip was AWESOME.

*prepares for 1.5-hour-long commute home in piss-smelling, bomb-threatened train*

(Of course, it was in 1986. I could be remembering it with a slight case of rose-colored glasses... But... it smelled good! Fresh! Oceany! And I bought a dolly. *blush*)

I was born in 1986...

Hee. ^^;

I figured as much. Pipsqueak. ~__^

(I think I was maybe eleven?)

Well, yeah, until I can build up enough escape velocity to get out of here, I'm here too. :>

I'm doing quite well on the escape velocity front.

Did you know that 99% of all people born in Rhode Island live their whole lives in Rhode Island and die on Rhode Island?

That's practically corporal punishment.

Depresses me, but doesn't surprise me. Most people live and die within something like 100 miles of their birthplace...like 70+%.

I'm aiming to die at least 300 miles from here. Preferably Vermont, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm going for a longer distance. Around 4000 miles, in fact.

My sweetie lives in Denmark. We met here in January, I went for a visit in April, and I'm going back for the summer at the end of June.

How's that for moving out? ;D

Sounds a lot like Louisiana. They scare me down here.
