This is partly a vent and partly a serious question - when it comes to LKH I can easily remember lots of things I don't want to but -know- I've forgotten bits of interest. So if anyone can think of something minor or major I've missed, please let me know. I'm all in favour of things making a bit more sense! Be warned though - this ramble has been building up for a while so it's long, a bit disconnected and kinda cuss-ridden. Sorry. For example... )

So it's been a while since I've been here and even longer since I read an Anita Blake book, but I saw the The Harlequin on the shelf at my library last week when I really needed a brainless read. Not quite the best move. However now that I'm thinking about it I would like to be able clarify some of my issues. Sadly I can't remember where things are and before I work myself up with how much character x fails I'd like to know my memory of events is correct. So without farther babbling does anyone remember where Nathanial's and Anita's sexual relationship starts?

Hello Lashers!  It's been too long!!!  I bring today the final chapters of the Harlequin, 41-47, fully snarked and awaiting your claws.  As always, LKH quotes are in bold, my own snide commentary in regular font.  If you'd like to read the previous installments, click on the tags below.  It's been so long since the last post, I actually went back and re-read the last few chapters to refresh my memory.  I hope you guys will join me for the ridiculous conclusion~

So, I heard today that LKH was told by her publisher to clean up the books or she'd be dropped. It was also claimed that, out of the Harlequin, only ten pages out of an apparent three hundred are sex.

Anybody know whether or not this is legitimate? It gives me a smattering of hope, if so.

Hello, lashers!!  First, I'd like to apologize for the length of time it's taken for me to get this up--I really do put a lot of time and effort into these, and I didn't want to post a half-hearted attempt.  But here we have chapters 38-40 of The Harlequin, snarked and ready for your claws!  I've seen a lot of new people around here lately, so if you'd like to read the previous chapters (or the Danse Macabre snark) simply click on the tags below.  As always, LKH direct quotes are in bold face, my commentary in regular font.

Hello again, Lashers!  Sorry to post again so soon, but I've finally finished the next five chapters of The Harlequin, snarked and ready for flogging.  As always, direct quotes from LKH are in bold face, my own commentary in regular font.  The AB:VH universe belongs to Laurell K. Hamilton, this is a parody/review.

For those of you new to these, you can find the previous installments by clicking on the tags.  So, claws at the ready, gang!

Hello, my dear lashers!! I'm so sorry this has taken me so long to get out, I didn't have internet for a while.  I hope you're all still in the mood to rip these to shreds with me : )   Here are the next three chapters of The Harlequin, snarked for your pleasure.  As always, the previous chapters can be found by clicking on the tags, and direct LKH quotes are in bold, myself in regular font.   Get your whips ready~

Hello again, lovely lashers!  I've got the next four chapters of The Harlequin all snarked and ready for some serious mockery.  These are chapters 11-14, and as usual, LKH quotes are in bold face, with my own snark and commentary in regular font.  I've said it before, but given the amount of new faces around here, it bears repeating:  If you'd like to read the previous chapters along with everyone's hilarious and witty comments, simply click on the tags at the bottom   And without further ado....

Hi all!  I've been lurking on the group since pointed here by the fantabulous [profile] wakarimashta   and definitely like what I've read.  I (like all of you I assume) liked the early Anita Blake books and am now just following along for the trainwreck entertainment values and the faint hope that LKH'll somehow wake up or something.  Glad to meet some fellow travelers!

As a sample of my feelings here's

Hello, my lovely lashers!! I come bearing the next three chapters of The Harlequin, snarked up and ready for your attack.  As always, LKH quotes are in bold face, my comments are in regular font.  For those of you new to these, the previous chapters and everyone's hilarious and insightful comments can be found by clicking on the tags.  Also, if you haven't already read them and are in the mood for prior floggings, I did the same with Danse Macabre, up to chapter 46.    These chapters are amusing, because our favorite cold-blooded corpse killer is back (well, on the phone at least *)

And without further ado, let the games begin~

Hello again, my lovely lashers.  Crack out the whips and get ready, here are chapters 6 and 7 of the Harlequin, snarked and ready.  These two are particularly hilarious.  For those of you new to these, the previous chapters can be found by clicking on the tags.  As always, LKH quotes are in bold face, my own commentary in regular font.   I've had such a good time having discussions with all of you regarding these, not to mention how deliciously snarky you all are :)

First posting *blink* I think? Yeah. So uhhh, please don't kill me if I do anything wrong in this posting. But I'm struggling through The Harlequin and upon hitting chapter 17, I couldn't help but shake the feeling that LKH's ever so unoriginal pee-brained mind of bestest thoughts eva is making an attempt to not only steal from other vampire-fantasy related works....but now sci-fi?

Captain James T. Kirk Anita Blake ... oh wow. Little Anita.

Beam Me Up, Scotty before the cooch does )

And yeah, I'm sorry Kirk, but omg! DUDE! Anita is Kirk; only her problem is she can't get enough humpage compared to Kirk's little problem of always losing his shirt

Fandoms are no longer sacred!

*shuts up and goes back to stuffing face with raspberry chip royal ice cream*

Hello, my lovely lashers! I come bearing Chapters 4 and 5 of The Harlequin, snarked and ready to be shredded.  As always, LKH quotes in bold face, my commentary and the like in regular font.

[identity profile] sharkbytes.livejournal.com

Hello, my lovely lashers! It's been too long since last we've snarked. I decided to take a break from doing the Danse Macabre snark, since The Harlequin is out and I've been itching to rip into this for weeks.

DISCLAIMER:  There's quite a few new faces around here, so a bit of explanation:  This entire post, by nature, is a spoiler.  It's a brief recap of each chapter, with snide comments, snarky observations, and the like.  Direct quotes from the text are in quotation marks and bold face, while my comments and such are in regular font.  I have a great time doing these, as they bring up a lot of interesting discussions in the comments.  So feel free to sharpen your claws and jump on in.

Alright I just read somewhere something that both makes me happy and upset so I need someone who has read The Harlequin to tell me if it's true or not.
