I don't think it'd happen, because it's not an original Marvel fandom like, say, X-Men. They wouldn't have the creative control to be able to do that; I can't imagine LKH having allowed the comic to be produced unless there was little to no leeway for anyone to change anything.
Though... in a way, the novel canon is now its own alternate universe...
