I read my first Pratchett when I was about 15, and it blew my mind and literally changed how I thought, not just about books and writing but about EVERYTHING. Up 'til then, 99% of the fantasy I could find was Lord of the Rings and all its descendants: swords, kings, battles, elves, etc. And then I read Pratchett and it was about PEOPLE. And the rest was utter love. There are certain of his books I like more than others, but I have never been disappointed with a Pratchett book.*
* = Except maybe Where's My Cow?, but only because I wanted it to be longer.
