Anti-human?

Is it just my mad little imagination, or does LKH seem to increasingly despise the "ordinary" humans as the series goes on?
Originally there were a number of human characters, who were relatively norma. There was a balance between the supernatural and the human everyday, with good and bad characters in each.
Now if any humans appear, they seem to be evil, bigoted, dishonest, stupid, crazy, female (meaning: evil in the Diety's eyes, for they each possess a vagina) or Anita just doesn't like them, like that pregnant cop. Or all of the above. I bet if the Zeemans showed up again, they'd have transformed into a bunch of mentally-ill bigot prudes and need to be shown the error of their ways by the Diety.
The only exceptions I can think of are who have attached themselves to a vampire like a remora, "powerful" psycho/sociopaths (Edward, Olaf), or who have some kind of odd powers that are at Anita's disposal (that fortunetelling witch lady). Richard, the only "monster" who loves the humanity in him, is portrayed as a deranged sadist -- no other vampires or weres seem to yearn for what they were, no matter how nightmarish their lives have been since.
We all know how enamoured LKH is of the "monsters" of her books. But she used to at least present us with likable human characters, while now she seems to have nothing but contempt for ordinary people (think Ronnie) because they are too "weak" to come onto her scope.
am I imagining this?
