I posted this because I thought it was interesting that she has worked at least one of her top 5 into the books. And as much as she posts about music she only adds one CD to the list. With as many blogs as she has gone on about having to drag out the musicals and Christmas music in order to finish her books she didn't post any on her list.

![]() | ![]() by Bruce Chadwick We say that Washington is the father of our country, but this book truly reminds us what that means. Our country would be a different place, maybe British, if we hadn't had Washington. This book is amazing. The research alone would make me love it, but it is also well written and gives you a glimpse into what it might have been like to be here in our country when nothing was certain, and we could rise and fall with one man's vision. If you want to read something that will make you proud, once again, to be an American, rather than vaguely embarrassed no matter what side of the political spectrum you're on, this is the book.

![]() | ![]() by E. B. White It's a book that I read periodically, to remember what economy of language can do for a writer. This is the first book that I ever read that began to teach me about language not just as a reader but as a budding author. Also, it's a good story, full of characters you love, and a mix of reality and fantasy that makes you believe in both equally. I think it was from this book that I learned that if you're going to ask the reader to believe in the impossible you better make sure your possible is absolutely accurate |
