I think LKH has mentioned Charlaine Harris and MaryJanice Davidson--but they're both more on the light, humourous side of the genre, so they aren't as much of a threat.
Clay is awesome. He's a werewolf who actually acts like a wolf, rather than a person who simply gets furry and four-legged some of the time.
