I have to agree with you on the mysoginy issue, at least in the first book. The whole wank about opening doors for women and women who don't appreciate it/him. Bit eye-rolly.
I've only read the beginning of Storm Front. (Not really reading anything right now thanks to this MCAT study prep from Doom). I was afraid the mysoginy thing was the author speaking through the char. If it's just a character flaw thing... meh. At least it makes the char well-rounded. Annoying, but well-rounded.
