The wolves started howling during the reading. I had to stop so we could all listen to them. It was amazing. This is the second time they've howled during the reading almost as if they're getting used to hearing me read

What is it about the sound of wolves that moves us in a way that other sounds do not?
Well, I move pretty fast if I hear a wolf 'singing' near me. Birds and even people sing. Wolves just howl. It's not that beautiful. I mean it's as beautiful as a hyena's sound or something.

Much as LKH makes my brain bleed, I have to say that I do like the way that wolves and dogs sound when they're howling as a pack. Personal opinion, but I find it soothing.

Which doesn't mean I'm going to say us or assume it's that way for everyone.

Yeah, I guess it's a matter of personal taste. I love dogs, but I live in a place where everyone has a dog (including myself), so when they all start howling in the middle of the night, it's kind of creepy and I have to confess I don't like it much. As for wolves I never cared much for them. I like felines much more. ^___^

*shudders and rocks in a corner* Bad memories. Very bad memories. I came close to wolves one winter. At least, i think they were wolves. Maybe wild dogs. It was winter in upstate New York, the farmlands part (yes, NY has farmlands). My sister, cousin and I were sledding down a hill (bourdered on three sides by trees). I looked over towards the trees and saw a pack of dogs/wolves watching us.

Needless to say, I told my sister and cousin to walk slowly home with me behind them.

Now, if I'm outside and I hear howling, I get inside quick or grab the nearest weapon.

Poor wolves, subjected to the air pollution that is LKH's works being read aloud. I'd be howling too, maybe she'll get eaten, but then the poor wolves would die of BS poisoning.
