I don't think Anita ever had a real conscience or concern for the rights of others.
She just used to repeat the things she overheard that sounded correct. Her sources used to be religious sermons or politically correct slogans, now she spouts therapy-speak, but in both cases she is oblivious to the actual meaning of what she says.
She used to say that it was wrong for people to own others. What she really meant was that it would be wrong for anyone to own her.
She used to claim that forced sex was wrong. What she really meant was that it would be wrong if the victim didn't find the rapist attractive.
