That's a big thing I have problems with - that her partners are picked by a magical need that is outside of her control, and it not only influences her, but seems to change basic facts about the partners as well (like gay men wanting sex with her). It's insulting and convenient and takes away any interesting quandaries that might arise with something that's more morally ambiguous. If one person would just "freak out" over this whole thing, it would have interesting connotations for Anita's whole universe.
I, for one, thought she was so much more interesting when she wouldn't have sex, or when it was a Big Deal.
