(I had my brother in town, so it took me awhile to get back to you. Sorry!)
If you can send the Merry ebooks my way (naeko at livejournal.com) or upload them for me, I would be much obliged. I have up to Skin Trade, which is #16, iirc. Before that, it's BLUDD NOR and The Harlequin; we're unsure of the order, but LKH is such a master of continuity and intrigue, I'm not sure it matters.
As for what to track, I would just sort of wing it and see what terms/words jump out at you. The most overused terms that come to mind without even glancing at the books are, "like they were poured on," "shrug that meant everything and nothing," "like so much meat" and whatever blue flame bullshit she was always using to describe JC's eyes.
One day I want (not really want, but you know) to go through the sex scenes, copy paste them into a big document and then replace all the names with ridiculous, alternate names that have nothing to do with the men (FLOO-FLOO THE SQUARE-SHAPED MAN or something) and then see if anyone can actually tell the difference, or even estimate what book each is from. I do not estimate them being that different from each other!
I would not begrudge you, if you chose to do it instead.
Someone started to do a "percentage of one of the books dedicated to sex" thing a few... years? ago, and it ended up actually showing that more of the book goes to angsting than anything else! I will try to dig up those posts.
