Wow. Well, that pretty much confirms why her books went into a tailspin when her marriage hit the rocks. The popularity of her books led her to believe that she could throw caution to the winds and turn her books into rampant author-fulfillment fantasies. Up to that point she'd been constrained by her upbringing and her (apparently quite domineering) husband.
It also pretty clearly implies that she isn't going to wise up and go back to the way things were in the early books.
