With virtually anyone else, I'd assume something like that had happened. Or, even if they had married only 6 months after a separation, whatever, stuff happens. But the rumors, and the books, and Anita's complete inability to deal with being alone, and I don't just mean "not have a romantic partner," I mean "be alone in a room"... okay, I'm speculating, but damn there's a lot of fuel for speculation. Also, the way it's written has LKH's marriage not working and her vowing never to marry again, and then 6 months after that vow wanting to marry Jon. Hell, I spent longer than that swearing off marriage after breaking up with my first boyfriend.
