Tuesday, October 24, 2006 - Remember Those Sausages
http://blog.laurellkhamilton.org/2006/10/remember-those-sausages.html
LKH = emphasis
Me =pain regular.
Do you guys remember a few days ago when I said, I wished I could tell you everything that had been going on with the business end of things? I made analogy to making sausage.
Yes, who can forget your 'If you knew what went into it you wouldn't eat it' speech. And heaven knows many of us have stopped eating it. Now we poke it to see how long it's been dead.
Well, you don't get to know everything that went into the making of it, but you do get the warm, crispy finished product.
Does anyone else wonder if her shit not only smells golden, but comes out looking like waffles?
You know how we said that the next Anita book, THE HARLEQUIN, would be in October of '07, well, it won't be.
*arching of brows*
Did I hear a despairing wail?
Well, I suppose considering you think of your fans as a bunch of banshees and harpies....
Well, don't despair.
Too late. But that was from the first gunshot a couple of years ago. Don't worry. Our lawyers can't get you now.
THE HARLEQUIN, Anita #15, will be out in June of '07. You're getting the book five months earlier than planned. How cool is that?
It's not cool. It's suspicious. Did Jon convince you thatAnita you need liposuction/breast implants/ he needs a penile implant a new car?
It's more work for me and my editor and everyone who will be working on the book.
1 - What editor? 2 - What everyone? 3- OMFG. This is you appologising upfront for how crappy this new book is, isn't it. You saw all the tight wet tightness and lack of plot and needed an excuse and now it's gonna be 'But it was 5 months early. I needed more time'. WTF? WTF?!
We're the ones that have to make the sausage, but for all of you just on the devouring end,[...]
Did she just compare her fans to the vag of doom? *shudders*
I'm excited about the book coming out earlier, but being run a little ragged helping make it all happen.
New earrings? Are the dogs sick? Did they try to committ suicide? Does Trinity need braces? What? What could possibly force you to try and move faster on a book you've been fucking up slowly on all this while?
____
Well you heard it there first folks. Not only is Anita not going to involve the police in what seemed on the surface to be an interesting hostage situation. Not only will Edward be reduced to backing up the Human Servant of the Master of the City as if he were Death on Call / For Hire. But it's all going to come at those willing to part with the hard earned cash in their wallets with even less possible read-overs and spell checks than ever before. Nearly half a year's worth of mistakes, mispellings, misunderstandings and misplaced plot coming live and fresh and crispy.
May God Have Mercy On All Our Souls.
