Jul. 6th, 2005 09:52 pma) Imagine that. laurellkhamilton.org has been revamped. (No pun intended.) Still not the greatest site design (not that I have the expertise to critique), but hey... almost anything's better than that annoying ripple thing and the huuuuuuge picture. Perhaps
refche's in-depth dissection of the site didn't go unnoticed.
b) Please feel free to pimp out authors you DO like (and, if you feel you have to make it relevant, you can compare/contrast to LKH). Tentatively, let's stay within the realms of fantasy and supernatural for pimping for now, since we can safely assume that most LKH readers, disgruntled or not, enjoy supernatural stories.

Date: 2005-07-07 09:04 am (UTC)Thankful for saving us from her huge face, though.
The 'design' still sucks. Because it's the same, except for the main page. You still get the ugly graveyard and I'm too tired to go exploring beyond that...
Reccing an author page evanovich.com (http://www.evanovich.com/), mostly because of the Plum Fun part and it's sub-section of Q&A. It's not a very good deign (though far from bad), but it has a nice feel, light and fun. Like the books. And it works, because you get the feeling that JE has an internet presence. LKH has a blog and I still don't get that vibe.

Date: 2005-07-07 01:19 pm (UTC)HEAVILY pimping Kim Harrison. She's kinda like the OLD LKH, only a bit more imaginative, and she mixes in her fairies, her demons, and her werewolves and vampires, along with witches, all at the same time. The more the merrier. And it can be funny as hell. (PIXIE LOVE!)
She's got out three books now, and I wish there were FOUR! (Or more, I go through them fast, in spite of trying to make them last a bit...)
1-Dead Witch Walking.
2-The Good, The Bad, and the Undead.
3-Every Which Way but Dead.
(HOPE I got those right. lol.)
They are imaginative, and fun, and I really do not see her as a wannabe LKH. You can't be writing better than someone and be a wannabe. Plus, she writes same genre, but otherwise, original material. Oh, and Rachel isn't a Sue. Every man doesn't want her. Some just want to use her, and some hate her. Some want her dead.
I can also recommend Mary Janice Davidson, and such novels as 'Undead and Unwed.'
They are funny as hell. Chosen one or no, the main character, Elizabeth, is too much of a flippin' air head to ever, ever be a Sue. I howled through half the first two books, and giggled madly over most of the rest.

Date: 2005-07-11 06:08 pm (UTC)The first 3 chapters are up on her page! You can find them under "Books", "Anita Blake 9-13". It's the last gravestone on the bottom.
