I don't know if anyone else did this one already, but I don't think so. If someone has, I'm sorry I missed it.

Me in plain, she in italics

I'm sure you all remember the recent blog about Gary Gygax and how much it related to LKH and how much of a revolutionary she was for playing D&D when she was a child. Or something. Anyway, it appears that a bunch of positive readers rushed to comfort dear LKH in her moment of grief over at her MySpace page. With some encouragement from Darla, who I really hopes get paid a good deal to work for this woman, LKH braved the horrors of the internet. Blah blah blah, she wants to assure everyone that she is confident about her career choice!

I never have doubts that the writing is what I was meant to do. I took just enough pre-med to know that medicine was not for me. The more real police I interview, the more I know I couldn't do it for real. Or rather, I don't want to have a job where life and death really hang on the line.

I don't really have anything bad to say about this since I don't think it's somehow lacking to not want to deal with life and death but I feel it's a good lead up to the next sentence. I will say that LKH does have issues with death that go well beyond what's normal.

I love that I can always rewrite tomorrow. I've written death scenes and undone them the next day.

I have no words.

I like that about my job, and wish, only, that it could work the same in real life. As for being a politician or diplomat and help bring peace to the world, well, I just don't think I'm temperamentally suited to diplomatic work. I can be diplomatic when I must, but it's not my natural bent. That's putting it mildly.

LKH, dear, you can't even handle a group of people who dare to think your work is less than stellar. What the fuck makes you think you'd be able to "help bring peace to the world"?

In other news, LKH wants to repor that she has managed to *gasp* do some of her own work!

I did figure out how to use a thumb drive so I could download files to print from other parts of the house this week. I had no choice, my techies were either sick or trapped home by nine inches of snow. But I did it, I managed to print my pages all week. Brownie point for me.

You have got to be fucking with me. You need techs to help you print? I realize I probably should not be making assumptions, but I'm certain a lot of this "techphobia" is just another bid for attention. How could a grown woman in this day and age raised in the USA not know how to print?

I'm not complaining, but bluesauce did this one on the 8th of March I think. :) I'd post a link and stuff but I don't know how to do that in comments. Sorry for my lj dumb. I do know how to print on my own though, and I don't need my hand held when I read comments on MySpace. ;)

Anyhoo.

The more real police I interview....

What. What she interviewing fake police before? Actors maybe? Please tell me she wasn't interviewing her characters for own research before she found 'real' police.

I love the idea of her going up to mall security guards, etc., and asking them questions about murder investigations and so on.

Well, one of her "bodyguards" is supposedly a cop.... (God, Chuck, I will never, ever, ever forgive you for getting involved w/ this psycho woman! :-p)

Granted, I don't count on him ever making detective - he's just a bit too gun happy to get off the streets.

I bet that she writes Richard's death scene and then resurrects him over and over.

Wouldn't be surprised. Maybe a few minor characters, or supporting ones that she obviously isn't fond of like Emoboy... uh, I mean Requiem.
