Hi everyone. Super short post here.

Blood Noir Release Date

It has gotten moved up a week to May 27 from June 3.

We know everyone is disappointed that it will be coming out a week earlier than originally planned. :)

That's putting it accurately.

Are we really ready to see a new installment to ABVH? I don't know whether to cheer for more of the eye-rollage that moved up a date ( so much to make fun of in X number of pages) or dread more Anita angst, pwning all with the powah of sexing everything up on two legs and characterization-butchering that's close to assaulting my poor brain?

Are we all ready to see that soon?

Hee! I thought about flogging this with a simple, "Why is it a week earlier? Because her editor gave up on it."

Editor? What editor? She doesn't need one now w/ Jon Boi & Darla telling her how wonderful she is and how she doesn't need an editor... :-p

ya know, some really tiny, secret, hidden part of my cold, cold heart still has hope for this series.

i wonder what it says, though, that i didn't know when the release date was, and couldn't care less anyway....

It just means that your not getting your hopes up. Which means unless this book does a 180 you hopes are not going to be crushed in this book.

i lost my faith after paying for incubus dreams in hardback. and throwing it away within the same day.

I *cough* "lost" my copy in the office lunchroom. Then we moved to a new office. I never saw the book again.
I wonder if anybody picked it up?

*snerk* more like the book just couldn't cope with being so bad anymore and committed ... uh... litericide? bibliocide? right into the trash.

That would have been awesome, especially if the paper shredders were around back then (they put one in the lunchroom during the move).

well, i've been trying to find that one soft spot i've got for this book, but it's too deeply hidden.

i may find it after this book. and put that soft spot in front of a firing squad out of its misery.

I had some hope, too. I still had that hope even after The Harlequin, but after reading the first chapter of BN it died.

you know... it's been a lot like that for me too. because the premise of TH was good. all the way until i read it. *facepalm*

i'm not even sure i finished reading that first chapter.

Wait, how is anyone that likes the books going to be disappointed if a book is coming out sooner? I can understand being disappointed if the books is coming out later then planed but not sooner.

Once again you have shown that your logic fails.

I think the hint is the smiley face on the end, she was being sarcastic.

Date: 2008-03-11 07:36 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] wellowned.livejournal.com
because, yeah. sarcasm translates real well on the web.

yeah, that also was sarcasm. without a smiley.

From: [identity profile] nova-night.livejournal.com
That is a very bad hint, if your going to bring sarcastic you italics the main word it so hard to miss it at all. A smiley face does not make me think of someone being sarcastic, a whinking one like this ;) would have worked better.

Then again look at who we are talking about, I shouldn't be shocked at all about it.

It's too soon for another one of these atrocities!

Although I am SO excited for the snark. It's going to be the perfect way to end off highschool for me. I'll be laughing all through my graduation ceremony.

From: [identity profile] daphne-gateau.livejournal.com
The only good thing about this is the snarkage will happen *that much sooner*. Woo Hoo.

I'm on the fence about reading this book. I certainly won't buy it. And I'm used to making up my own entertaining story to fill in the logic gaps and lack of plot in LKH's writing. Still, I'm not even sure if Anita's worth my time anymore after that rancid first chapter posted the other day. I have a feeling 'Jason's book' is going to be even more horrible than 'Micah's novel lite' and Jason will suffer character assasination of Richard-like proportions.

I'll wait for the brave souls on this list to read it and let me know if the book even has a lulz factor to make it worthwhile.

From: [identity profile] duchym.livejournal.com
yeah that first chapter was...bad. really amazingly horrifyingly bad. bad even for LKH bad. as in "how in the hell does something like this ever see the light of day????" bad.

Crap, that's the day before my birthday. Some well-meaning soul is going to give me that damn book, I just know it.

That's the day OF my birthday. I really don't need to know she's sullying this day with her crap. But at least my friends all know better :P

Except I have evil friends...

Oh god.

From: [identity profile] sadlikeknives.livejournal.com
Sorry, but I don't think I can say yes. For one thing, it's kind of an in-joke, and for another, the person who actually made it isn't around these days, and I'd feel really weird giving permission for its use without running it by her.

LKH, IMO, has more class than Cassie Clare--she at least doesn't pretty much copy-paste shit off other people's stuff.

As in the fact that she spews out her own shit rather than taking someone else's? I get your point though. (And a bit more random, but when you mention LKH and class in the same sentence, my mind immediately jumps to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTED57DmUbU).)

I think I remember reading that snark in canon_sues. Wasn't there a guy with anti-freeze colored hair or something? I've tried to burn it out of my memory. Maybe I give Cassie Clare a bit more slack because she's not a "New York Times Bestselling Author" and hopefully she never will be. That and she's still a fanfic writer in my mind; even though she's published now I can't convince it otherwise.

But yeah... plagiarism. *shudders* I really have no idea how she can get such an inflated ego when she does it. And she does it so blatantly too.

I honestly don't care about her fanfic past, as long as she never does something like that again. Unlike LKH she writes fluff I enjoy reading.

Didn't she even state it in her author's notes that she had taken stuff from lots of places, but it'd be fun if the fans had to guess where? *shakes head*

Oh, and I was browsing wikipedia this morning and I randomly came across this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassandra_Clare). I'm sure it will leave a pleasant taste in your mouth. D:

It's pretty much true. I read it, and she's a total hack. The part that spun my head right 'round was that among the characters we have Max, Isabel, and Alec (names ring any bells?) and then the protagonist is CLARY FRAY.

A) CC claims 'Clary' has nothing to do with her own name but we already know she's a big fat liar and
B) The novel has demons, and people fight them. Joss Whedon had at this point already published Fray, a graphic novel about--of course--a vampire slayer of that surname.

And then there's the shoutout to the Very Secret Diaries that initially made her internet-famous. I find it highly doubtful a fifteen-year-old in 2007 would've heard of them, though, never mind decorate their stuff with quotes, considering they hit their high point circa 2001.Twi-Hards, Twilighters Or Something Else? Yeah, she has a button on her bag or something.

....I just now realized I managed to get something I'd C/Ped for an IM window in at the end of my comment there. I'm so smooth. Not.

They have rushed this through like whoa.

Wasn't she JUST editing it a couple of weeks ago? There are usually three or four months between author's final edits and publication, minimum.

From: [identity profile] brightlyiburn.livejournal.com
Um...quite frankly, yes.

Though perhaps she doesn't lie -enough-, if her blogs are all truth. In which case...lie to us, LKH! Lie to us hard! While we're still tigh--okay, I'll stop now.

I honestly don't think I can stand to read this book. Especially if it centers around the character assassination of a man with cancer. Not now, at any rate.

Ok, not centers around the cancer victim, but he won't be shown in a good light and I'm guessing his condition won't be a factor of "My dad is dying. Maybe I should try to make peace before it's too late." I have ten bucks on it being more bad sex, some uptight parents not seeing how special Anita is, and the bad, evil father dying at the end of the book.

Date: 2008-03-12 10:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] easol.livejournal.com
I can stand to read it, but just barely.

There's no way that it WON'T be a bashing of a cancer-stricken man, because in true spoiled-teenage-brat style, LKH will only use their disapproval of Anita to shove Jason deeper into the Doomcrotch. It'll probably end with some drippy statement about how he doesn't need his parents, he's got DOOMCROTCH AND HER HAREM, and how they're all the family he needs.

Blech. Now I'm making myself sick.

Pfft! It's not like any vast improvements were going to be made. Just another example of LKH crapping out one "masterpiece" after another. *chortle*
