Cherry?

Zane?

Vivian?

Elizabeth?

And the many many many MANY others that have just vanished without a trace?

She write these characters and we grow attached to them throughout the books and then *poof* they're gone (not that I mind that Elizabeth vanished, I mean come on, Bitch had it coming). Raina's munin never "talks" to Anita anymore. What happened to the "sleeping in puppy piles"?

Anita keeps them in her Crotch o' Doom. That's the only reason I can figure for why she has sex with zillions of monster dicks and yet stays so tight. There's just no room left at the inn.

Forgive me for what I just said. I'm a very embittered former fan.

I actually read somewhere that having less sex would make you loose...

Ok, TMI there...

Haha really? Well, either way, I still blame the Crotch o' Doom for everything that's wrong in the Anitaverse.

Actually, neither has any impact on that. If you're aroused and lubricated, THAT'S what makes you loose. In other words, it's a GOOD thing.

So where did LKH get this idea that "tight" is the best time to have sex?

$5 says too many Harlequin romances/male-oriented porn.

Bingo. Somewhere around, the idea became that if a woman was "tight" it was best for the man and therefore the best thing evar. There are even surgeries meant to tighten things up. (Hint: they kill nerves in the process)

...yeah, it's bull.

YOU DON'T NEED NERVES DOWN THERE! Especially not if they're getting in the way of someone's bad-porn-fantasy experience.

*calms down* I shouldn't comment right after reading ranty feminist blogs.

Not sure where that came from, it usually makes a woman tighter. However, frequent orgasms can strengthen the muscles in that area, which makes it tighter as well. (Not nearly enough to compensate for constant sex with monster penii, though.)

And don't forget Edward. =(

well Edward doesn't really fall into that category; both he and Olaf(and Peter, ick) came back to St. Louis in the Harlequin and had a pretty major role. I'd certainly prefer to see more of him, but he hasn't completely vanished.

oh! I haven't read harlequin yet. I'm not ready for the loss of brain cells that is sure to result =)

well I know Cherry was in the Harlequin, she had a couple of scenes actually. And I'm pretty sure Vivian is living with Stephen, but as for the others, I'm not sure off the top of my head. Probably vanished on a post-it.

The only force which holds a character in the Anitaverse is the power of the DoomCrotch. Those who refuse to enter are (mercifully) sucked into the void.

Raina was replaced by the even less discriminating ardeur.

As for Elizabeth, she was doing what a real lycanthrope would do if they were following their "beast". Why shouldn't she look for a real alpha leopard to replace the non-leopard, wolf and corpse-fucking skank who took over her pack? And why should she or anyone else be forced to go to sex-clubs as Nathaniel's "baby-sitter", when Anita should have ordered him to remain celibate until he was able to say no all by himself.

Yes! Yes! I'm always surprised when people are disgusted by Elizabeth's behavior. I've always thought of her being a true alpha and alphas don't baby-sit.
I'm actually glad that Laurita forgot about her. Elizabeth would have become a simpering patsy in not time.

What irks me is how she did it. If she'd just told Anita "Go piss up a rope, I'm nobody's babysitter," that would be one thing, but she just abandoned Nathaniel. That's like leaving a child alone. It's totally wrong, and punishing the wrong person.

yes!! I wanted Elizabeth to take over the pard so much. Nathaniel was such a pain in the ass back then. Why on earth should someone be forced to hang around with him anywhere, much less a sex club.

Anita deals with the munin/Raina in Harlequin. I can't remember the last time Zane or Elizabeth were in a book.

They ran away to join a better series?

In Harlequin didn't Richard throw something about Raina in Anita's face? I thought he suggested the munin was the real reason Anita is drawn to Raina's old lovers and it's not really her choices after all, no matter what she's telling herself. I miss the conflict Anita had with Raina/Raina's munin.

I desperately want to read a series based around the AB:VH characters who have fled or escaped.

As do I. Actually, I wish all the characters in the AB:VH series could be written by a different author. The Anitaverse had such potential!

Oh, yes, I agree. But your comment about the characters running away produced a mental image along the lines of:

"Gretchen? You've escaped too? No!—Don't go back for Jean-Claude! He must find his own way to freedom. Zerbrowski is hosting a meet and mingle part on Friday for humans, weres, and vampires, but you may wish to visit Dead Dave's bar… yes, the whole bar has arrived here… in the mean time and get familiar with the area. Don’t worry, Gretchen. I think you’ll be happy here."

Oh, it would be glorious.

LOLZ. XD

Poor Jean-Claude. Sometimes I think he's fighting the doomcrotch, but the fact that he was in the series from Book One makes it impossible for him to ever break free. Kind of pathetic but humorous really...

In a nutshell: LKH hates Elizabeth so someone in a later book is going to briefly mention that Elizabeth left town and will never ever come back.
