Andais vs. Anita

I've made a list, huzzah, of the many suspicious similarities between Anita and Andais. This is purely for fun, and because I'm very bored at the moment.

Andais - Pale skin, black hair, tall.
Anita - Pale skin, black hair, and of average height (sorry LKH, but 5'4 is not abnormally short, it's around the average for women. As someone who is 5'1, I find Anita's complaint over her extra inches to be annoying in the least.)

Andais - Queen of the Unseelie Court, the great dark powers of the Faeries, possibly more powerful then her counterpart, King Taranis.
Anita - Queen of every freakin' supernatural were-group. Has Jean Claude's balls in a vice, and so rules the vampires as well. Seen as more powerful uber-woman of her city, and world.

Andais - Sadist, enjoys causing pain, both physical and emotional, in sexual partners.
Anita - Often takes great bloody bites out of her sexual partners, or claws them to pieces. Also enjoys beating down people emotionally, i.e. Richard.

Andais - A bit off kilter, seen as letting her libido rule her world, often puts matters of the court on hold in favor of orgy.
Anita - Arduer/ardeur

Andais - Has harem of men that she refuses to share with anyone else, and prevents them from having any sort of sexual release except with her. All controlling and manipulative, makes them crawl across glass to have her.
Anita - Has harem of men she refuses to share, men are unable to find happiness with anyone else but her (happiness is subjective as they are so pussy whipped). Controlling and manipulative, mind fucks them before letting them touch her, has Richard crawl across glass every book via painfully long bitch sessions.

Andais - Has young boytoy, Tyler, possibly underage. A pain slut who lets Andais do anything to him and a pet that often wears a collar.
Anita - Has young boytoy, Nathaniel, who is mentally underage. A pain slut who lets Anita do anything to him and a pet that often wears a collar.

Andais - Refuses to let anyone tell her she's doing things wrong, or is a crazy bitch.
Anita - Constantly tortures Richard for being the only man with the balls to tell her she that she is a crazy bitch.

Andais - Should be ruling Unseelie Court, instead is fucking everyone.
Anita - Should be killing vampires, instead is fucking everyone.

Andais - Nicca mentions that she is fond of raping men, and yes it is possible.
Anita - Has raped London, Auggie,  and others. Seems unable to have sex without some force involved.

Andais - Ruining everything within the Court, and possibly world because of her utter incompetence and inability to accept advice and criticism.
Anita - Ruins every life around her, one of the most incompetent vampire slayers I have ever read, her solutions to problems are laughable at best (fucking is not the answer). Refuses to accept advice or criticism, and is on a fast track to destroying the world via Mother of All Darkness' interest in her.

Andais - A total crazy bitch whore.
Anita - A total crazy bitch whore.

Interesting that LKH's avatar has such astounding similar characteristics with the villain of another series she has written. Makes me think that some part of LKH's brain, a small part, is aware that Anita is a horrible Sue-bitch...and has written her accordingly within the Merry series.

I agree with everything except the last part. I don't think LKH even subconsciously realizes how similar her heroes are to her villains. I don't think Merry would be all that different from Andais. Maybe she would allow the dudes to have sex with other women or at least with each other, but I bet they would be no "No, I willingly lead a life of celibacy whenever I fall out of favor with your vagina Merry! No one can compare after I've had sex with you! Clearly I have to patiently wait for you to want me again because you are the only woman capable of satisfying me!"

It's more like all her short, black curly haired ladies are the same character. I guess Merry would be more Mary Sue hair. Also, all blond, tall, willowy women are are the same character too.

I honestly believe that LKH classifies the world into 3 groups: men, blond tall women (not LKH), and short and busty women (LKH).

I think she classifies them like: Pretty men (fuckable), Boring normal men (unfuckable), Women(unfuckable and threatening), Suck-up women (unfuckable but unthreatening). She is too sparkly and wonderful and special to be in a category after all!

I don't think LKH is a harsh on men about their looks as she is on women. She did have that scene with the pig-like fairy in the first Merry book.

I forgot about the gaping plot holes LKH will create in order to ensure that no one leaves her Sue, either willingly or not. I guess sparkly snatches have the same frightening addiction as black doom-hole ones.

Argh, so much YES on the height thing. I'm 5'1" too and it irritates me no end the way she goes on about being 5'4". I think she'd explode if she was my height if she thinks THAT'S short.

I was under the impression that Anita was five foot. 5'2" at most. Like, significantly short, not "Onoez, I am slightly beloew average height! ::ANGST::"

I think one of the early books put her at 5'3" (not that that means anything given LKH's lack of internal consistency), which I remember because it's my own height and the whole "legs too short to look good in miniskirts" thing resonated with me.

However, I almost never feel short around other people and my height is certainly not in the forefront of my mind, as it seems to be with Laurita.

Well, personally, I inherited most of my body parts from my dad, it seems, soooo I have this stocky, big-boned kind of body frame (and I don't mean as a euphemism for "fat"), plus short legs and a lousy hip-waist ratio, yada yada yada. I just don't have the right proportions for a miniskirt (or most ankle-length skirts, for that matter, even though I love them so).

No idea what LKH's own rationale is.

I have the whole "hearty peasant stock" build, but I do have fairly long legs for my height. Obviously one of those long slinky girls would look better, but, when I was younger I received a lot of compliments on my legs. Alas, no more!!!

Men aren't as tall as she seems to think they are either. I'm almost 5'10 (and kind of skinny with big boobs LKH would hate even though my hair is a quite average brown). Anyway, I'd say the majority of men I meet are shorter than. It annoys me that a lot of guys I'm attracted to are shorter when I like taller men better.

Heh, I noticed that on my first run through the books...seemed like every "hot" guy was 6' minimum. (I was also weirded out at how many men had long hair and the prevalence of thigh-high boots once I came to the conclusion that those must be the author's turn-ons.)

She also seems to go the opposite direction sometimes and have an abnormal number of men around Anita's height hanging around.

With 5'3 I always felt very short till I widened my horizons and left the home continent and suddenly I wasn't one of the shortest girls anymore
and honestly yes, I sometimes complain about my shortness, usually after grocery shopping, what ever I like to drink at the time seems to get reshelved on the highest shelf and suddenly gets to be in demand bad enought that there are only a few bottles left in the very back of the shelves,
I had to literally get help to get my waterbottles and lemonade every single time in the last months and a half !!!

But most of the rest of the time it doesn't register that much

Yep. I'm 4'10" as are most of the women in my family. I've never been impressed with how "tiny" Whorenita is. She'd be a giant in my family. And I like the fact that almost every man is taller than me so I can dance with anyone.

i'm 5 foot 7....one would think i would be tall. but i'm still the shortest one in my family!

and we live in el paso, texas. meaning that EVERYone is around 5 foot, even the men, except us. at least we're easy to find in a crowd!

I always thought Andias was more the Belle Morte of the MG world. That said, Anita is totally Belle Morte v2.0, Belle's even OMGJELLUS that Anita will somehow take her place in the hearts of her most beloved (JC and Asher, and Anita delights in telling BM that she treated them like shit, so hey, STFU biatch!) and BM has this thing where she makes her dudes sex over each other for her entertainment whether they like it or not. Anita admits that two pretty boys going for it "flat out does it" for her. BM has at least two vampire marks on Anita, and there's part of me that's all "WHY DOESN'T SHE JUST JET OVER TO ST LOUIS, CUT SOME BITCHES AND BIND ANITA TO HER FOR SOME ETERNAL TORMENT!" because a) Anita doesn't do girls and b) totally got dream!vision molested by BM and enjoyed it, and c) hey, this is a prime example to quell all those rumours about JC possibly setting up a new Council in the US free from tyranny etc etc.

But that would require the Council actually doing something other than beaming themselves via satellite into Anita's house only to be scared away by the sex-fu. However, it also means fanfic can save my brain. I live in a fantasy land of epic smackdown and St Louis being reduced to a smouldering crater.

Anyways, if Andias = MG!Belle Morte, this sets up with Merry to take Andias' place in MG books, and Anita to take BM's place in the AB:VH stories. Symmetry!

The difference is Andais actually seems to love her son, whereas Anita doesn't give a **** about anyone and breaks into mad wangsting at the thought of being pregnant.
