Jean-Claude's Bloodline Power
Aug. 14th, 2013 09:23 pmRemember my last bullet in that headcanons post I did?
http://lkh-lashouts.livejournal.com/591793.html
Subtle_shades said she had a crack theory that his bloodline power was stealing the powers of other vampires and I was like WAIT THAT'S NOT CRACKY AT ALL, THAT MAKES SENSE! We know Anita got the ardeur by being the Human Servant of JC, right? (Not something that usually happens with Human Servants, or ever before her because she's special, but most due to her being a necromancer is the in-universe theory as to how/why, I believe) And we learned in Bullet that she's basically like Rogue of the X-Men to vampires, permanently stealing any vamp power used against her, hence why she can call beasts like Padma, eat fear and anger like the Moroven and the Dragon, and do the life-draining thing like Obsidian Butterfly. Maybe that's not her power. Maybe stealing powers is JC's bloodline ability, and the reason she has it is the same reason she has the ardeur, through a tie to him while being a necromancer. Makes sense, right? It's my headcanon too now!

Date: 2013-08-15 10:58 pm (UTC)Also, I call bullshit on LKH for that 'powers used against -her-' bit; around her maybe. In her general vicinity. Or someone told her about it sometime and she thought it would be nifty. I dunno. Unless, in my repeated attempts to bleach the more horrific bits from my brain, I've missed the Dragon gaining power from Anita's anger, or Obsidian Butterfly taking her life force? I seem to remember that when Primo popped up and was nearly badass for... oh, at least 2.5 seconds, Anita swallowing all his Mega-Anger-Power was another huge WTF? moment for me, and not in a good way. Again, I may be repressing for the good of my mental health, but the general theme seemed to be that since Anita routinely carries around so much in the way of unending rage (what from, exactly? And wasn't the last person we heard described in such a fashion Olaf?) that all this metaphysically overwhelming power was a drop in the ocean. Oh-kay... If I'm imagining things even worse than they already are, however, I apologise. I welcome correction by the better informed.
Okay, this is why I shouldn't post when sleep deprived. I -really- ramble. Ahem. There's a yay vote buried in there. Thank you, peoples, for attempting to find sense where there is none.
