Nine hours at my desk, four pages to show for it. I don't mind 9 hour days when I get twenty plus pages, which does happen, but a four to nine ratio just feels like punishment.

But if I'd left early I wouldn't even have the four pages, so it was worth the time for the pages, but still I'm hoping that I've finally figured out how to approach the next part. I'm beginning to feel like Wiley E. Coyote, every time I think I've got a clever, no fail plan, it blows up in my face, or just sits there inert. There's always a part of almost every book that makes me feel like I just need to nuke the road runner from orbit - it's the only way to be sure. Good, bad, indifferent, I just want to get the bird, reach the goal, be done. I'll feel better tomorrow after some sleep, but right now, "Beep, beep, my ass."
