"When I feel difficulty coming on, I switch to another book I'm writing. When I get back to the problem, my unconscious has solved it." - Isaac Asimov

And then there comes the moment when deadlines and life combine to make you need something less art and more craft.

"There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein." - Red Smith

Somedays are a "let my unconscious work on it" day, and some are "open a vein" days. Sadly today is the latter, not the former, but the writing gets done either way.

Thank you so much for all the offers to work for me. It's very flattering, really appreciate it, but my PA is fabulous, so that's not the position. Sometimes throwing more person-power at a problem isn't the answer, so we'll try something else. Thanks for everyone who sent in resumes, or links to their websites, but there is no position to fill. Again, thanks for all the interest, but I think we've decided that more hands, do not light work make.

1) I had to look up Red Smith. He was a sports writer. I hope he meant that quote in jest, because it is ridiculous for any writer (except possibly Kafka), but more so for a sports writer.

2) Why not try writing? It's much easier.

I googled and found this - http://quoteinvestigator.com/2011/09/14/writing-bleed/ (http://quoteinvestigator.com/2011/09/14/writing-bleed/). Does appear that Smith was being sarcastic.

I'm wondering if the 7:02 post confirms that it wasn't someone on her personal team, but someone with her publisher or agency. And she's just coming at it all twisty with that vague, backwards phrasing to cover the fact that her hands are tied and she actually has no power to discipline this person.

Also, considering her tendency to exaggerate, I doubt that many people sent in their resumes. Though I do believe the part about the offers in general. I glanced at the actual Facebook post and was rather appalled at the number of people who have no qualms about publicly sucking up/begging for the job without the slightest hint of professional dignity, and it's likely doubled since I looked.

Once you've been broke for long enough, the concept of "professional dignity" tends to go out the window. LKH is known to reward people who publicly suck up to her, too.

Don't forget that LKH has a habit of picking fans for jobs, Darla, Missy, even Jon were promoted from 'fan' to part of the 'family of choice' I have no doubt she got resumes and offers. She has enough starry eyed troos to make that part believable.

Like others have said, the person LaLa was bitching about isn't actually her employee. If she could "do" anything said "jellus h8r" she would and wouldn't waste her time passive-aggressively whining about it on FB.
