After much deliberation we have a title for the new Anita Blake novel that I’m currently editing. Sometimes the title comes to me before I️ write a single word of a book, but sometimes it’s almost the last thing to be decided. So, for Summer of 2018 it’s SERPENTINE! Thanks to my editor for letting me announce it first.

At this point, I fully expect snake penis or penis snakes or return of the venom cock /fandom old or most likely this is like Blood Noir where it's a word she thought was cool and the book has zero to do with snakes at all.

There's no way there will be penis snakes or venom cock (sadly.) She's gonna do like she did with Sholto and tease us with the possibility of something truly perverted (though consensual tentacle porn isn't even that out there), and then revert to Anita lying on her back scratching and screeching while perfectly normal though oversized cock #425 pushes into her for two minutes. If she even bothers with a sex scene this time at all, rather than just bickering and GYM.

Pffft two minutes is a bit of a stretch. It'll be more like 20 seconds before he "brings her" and it'll be declared amazing and the best ever. But you're right, we'll never get anything remotely pervy or even interesting.

I have to wonder how much her editor is cracking down on her because I feel like she's been editing (well "editing") this thing since September and only just now getting a title. LKH, don't make me hope for something that's vaguely coherent.

I had hope for her last one and it was possibly the worst. Except for Nathaniel getting his hair lopped off, that was hilarious. I don't know how she can top that great trauma, single tear and all.
