I think Richard will be introduced in the next chapter.
OH HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. This is what, book 15? We do NOT need a whole fucking chapter taken up explaining "This is my ex fiance who I still think is perfect for me and just can't get over, also he has a huge penis and is wangsty about it, also we are bound together by the vampire marks but act like we hate each other until he takes off his shirt and I can't breathe. But I'm totally over him. Uh-huh."

Date: 2006-05-25 09:11 am (UTC)That worries me more. Why is her fanboy husband writing the script for her book?!
Just out of curiosity, do any other writers write the script first? It doesn't seem like it would bode well with the creative flow. Of course, knowing LKH, by "work on the script," she means she'll turn on an audio recorder and record her conversation while doing her hubby. Voila! Instant script.
(One evening, LKH is sitting at her desk, headphones on and tapping away at her keyboard. She frowns, presses pause on her walkman, and yells out the door to Jon, "Honey, how do you spell, 'slurp, oh god, oh god, you're so tight?'"
Jon responds, "I don't know. Just write something bawdy there and we'll fix it when we edit.")
But they never did.

Date: 2006-05-25 07:30 pm (UTC)So Edward has gone from a novella to a whole book to two chapters? There is something wrong here.

Date: 2006-05-25 08:46 pm (UTC)there is something very wrong. all the glory has gone to her head and the words, ideas, creativity fell out!

Date: 2006-05-25 11:03 pm (UTC)It seems like Edward is getting used as a promise to keep us interested. The last couple times it's been Edward will appear, and then just as we are really to jump Edward is suddenly AOL. It bothered me that LKH seems to be using Edward as a tease to keep people interested.
I'd like an Edward novel like OB because then maybe Anita was evolve like she did the last time - granted she did evolve into a succubus, but really what worse could happen now?

Date: 2006-05-26 01:04 am (UTC)And yes, I believe she's taken her ideas for the mythical Edward novella and inserted it (Phwoar!) into Danse Macabre.

She is going to butcher Edwards character to freaking PIECES and make him into another one of Anita's penis pals. I know it ;_;

Edward, at last
Twenty-nine pages. Even I'm impressed. Admittedly a goodly portion of those pages were already written, just a matter of editing and smoothing the edges since they were lifted from DANSE MACABRE. But this is where they belong, this book. Two chapters about Edward, and they fit nice and snug. Cool. I think Richard will be introduced in the next chapter. I've made some notes, and if they work, he will end up surprising Anita and me in a good way. Cool, again. I think Jon and I might even be recovered enough from the convention to work on the script this afternoon. We'll see after lunch. We did the big work out yesterday, weights, push-ups, sit-ups, cardio, the works. Today is only the small weights day. After yesterday it will seem like a vacation. The pages have printed, time for lunch.
