While I do see a problem with having trolls in a community, I don't think asking to take a pm down is insuating an act of spying. And I am pretty sure if someone on the board I am modding would post pm's he got from another user, I would take them down, too. Cause PM= Private Message, they are thought to be private. If you really need to, retell the facts, but don't copy the pm ... at least that's the rule at our board for situations like the one with the warning, for more private things it would be keep them private, start your war elsewhere.
But seriously do you really think it's so weird that they react angry? You are not allowed to post anything even remotely critic-like on the board so why should you be allowed to criticise the board itself? Back on topic, Dear Spys, if you exist, don't get in our way. We are not harming LKH, hell we are even helping her because of our trainwreck mentality some of usstill buy the books to snark about them. No one I know of in this community would attack LKH in any way but verbally, and being an author is setting yourself up for critic, no matter what some people say. There is the job of the literal critic for a long time, because yes, you can money by giving good thoughtout (not always positive) reviews of books. You can study literature, and none of us is sitting in those courses and gushing at how good the work of so and so is, we criticise them, too. Big names like Shakespeare, Brontè, Austen, Wilde and so on. Even they are not safe from criticising literature students, or just readers, and from people dissecting their books. Not our fault that they don't get endresults like LKH. They used common grammar, spelling and plot development rules of their time. Their books had a plot. And so on and so on
This community is for the ones who want to be able and allowed to be critical about the books, and seriously with not using an editor and blatantly ignoring grammar, spelling, plot device and other rules and all critical fans you are going the wrong way.
Uhm
