Title: "I feel a great disturbance in the Force...", by Jon
It is as if 23 years of my life cried out and were suddenly silenced.
I'm not sure if I can ever watch Star Wars (of any kind) ever again.
Wait... you mean Jon's been alive for more than 23 years? Colour me shocked. I thought most people older than 23 had a better grip on reality, let alone trivial things like, you know, grammar. And taste.
Boo hoo hoo. Jon doesn't like RotS? I'm sure George Lucas isn't going to be able to sleep tonight. He's probably a quivering wreck because of the Mean Nasty People who say Bad Things about his work. Actually, no. Because George Lucas has some common sense.
By all means, Jon, leave Star Wars behind. It's not going to devolve into porn. The protagonist is not going to turn into a sex-driven moron. Besides, Star Wars is a fandom where fans can actually have their say and DEBATE things without being insulted or vaguely threatened by the creator. No, Jon, this isn't the fandom you're looking for; move along, move along.
(Sorry. I adore Star Wars, faults and all, and I'm as willing to bitch about it as I am to gush. Whiny brats like Jon, however, irritate me. Unless, of course, he was trying to be secretly witty and he actually liked the movie. I'm not holding my breath.)
ETA: All-praise to the beautifully subtle
freyalorelei for pointing out that I was missing words. In a post where I was insulting someone else's grammar, no less. Bad me. (Hey, at least I admit to the error!)

Date: 2005-05-28 10:39 am (UTC)One cool thing I heard about RotS was that designs for the droids, like R4, were posted about the place and fans could vote on the colour schemes that would appear in the final movie. I found that to be a particularly nice gesture.
I liked the movie, heaps better than the first two combined. I still maintain that the original trilogy was the best. I find the idea that people thinking that Episodes I-III are the BEST STAR WARS EVAR!!! kinda disturbing, that and the idea of Padme/Anakin sex squicky - because of the mechanical hand. Jeebus, I hope he warms that thing up before they try anything. Really.
I hope I wasn't the only chick in the audience that thought that.
But boo hoo, someone doesn't like Episode III. At least both trilogies have plot with their cheese factor. And manly pretty men. And evil that put some effort into being evil instead of just beaming into someone's living room and getting chased off by porn. And plot.
That's not any reason to give up on all the movies. Of course, if he just doesn't like them, he can just not watch them. [/smug]

BAAH! HA HA! Someone should walk up to him, in full Obi Wan outfit, wave a hand in his face and say that. "This is not the fandom you seek."
