Three of LKH's books are nominated for the Quill Award in the fantasy/ science fiction/ horror category. she competes with Incubus Dreams, Bitten and A stroke of Midnight with authors like Anne Bishop, Terry Pratchett, Jim Butcher or Tad Williams.

Why in gods name is this book even up for an award? This well and truly disgusts me frankly. Considering how many wonderful works will never even be published because the writers are unknowns, and that this WAS, and....this...just...well...
