Link: Um, I can't give it to you, because I keep linking back to the "Not the romantic evening we were hoping for" post back on June 12.  And I haven't gotten an xml feed since that date either.  And since the guestbook is down, how can I contact my beloved author about this? Meh, will try message boarding.

Title: "Summer Solstice"

I'm amused by the italics of it all.

Sometimes deciding not to do something is as important as deciding to do something. No, is a valid answer, and I think most of our lives would be better if we said no a little more often to all the demands on our time and energies.

That said, given how many fans keep screaming, "NOOO!!!" *khh* [/Vader] at yet another sex scene, or three hundred chapters of internal wangst, does anyone here think that she'll take any of her own advice?

I kinda hope book sales drop, and if anyone asks, someone from here can say, "We decided to say no.  Laurell said it was okay to do that."

>:)=

EDIT: The message boards are down too (um, I probably should have known that) - so the question begs - who, and how, do we contact people about the syndication feed being frelled?

EDIT AGAIN: I sent a really polite email to the address that sent the automatic "Hi, thanks for registering for the message board" drivel regarding the xml feed,a nd got a short (and for some reason, perky) reply from Darla sayin' she'll get the techs on it. Whoa. @.@

From what I heard about the new book so far, I already know that I probably won't buy it. But seeing as someone in my house is an avid LKH fangirl (the person who got me hooked in the first place), I'll end up reading it anyway.

I hope book sales drop too. Maybe then she will learn that badly written sex isn't all a book should contain.

If you sent a copy of Incubus Dreams to her publisher that was actually _edited_, they will either ignore it, or thank you for showing them the errors in the book and will be sure to fix them for the paper back.

I have to admit, if the next book seems to be anything like Incubus Dreams, I won't be buying it, much less reading it. I'm still trying to get over the trauma. ::shudder::

I will first try to win a copy in one of various online contests. I got an extra Merry one that way.

I will then wait for the discount percentage stickers to show up on the hardcovers, and find a copy, hopefully the last, with some small damage, so as to kill the profit margin when I buy the damn thing.

I will absolutely wait until the purchase is less likely to wind up in the best seller calculations.

Then, I will probably buy it, just for the sake of snarking like hell.

I want to start a round robin thing, where one person buys the book, then sells it to a friend for $5 less, who sells it to a friend for $5 less, etc etc. The point being we can all get our snark on without inflating the sale numbers.

Honestly, I'd rather pass it along for free -- I honestly feel bad for contributing to her "bestseller" status, but it's like crack. I can't not do it! :)

Though considering that the prices have dropped as the page counts have gone up, if the next one follows the pattern it may be 1,000 pages and $10.
