I'm not sure the television show, Desperate Housewives, is bad for us, in fact it's won a lot of awards.

I don't watch the show, so I can't speak for or against it, but… awards do not equal excellence. All an award means is that a certain sector—i.e., the people who determine who gets a certain award—liked something.

Then again, I don't think the AB or MG series have won many awards, so maybe I should let her logic stand. *eg*

I think it's just the title that makes it feel like a guilty indulgence.

Coming from the woman with such fabulous offerings as A Lick of Frost, A Caress of Twilight, Narcissus in Chains, Incubus Dreams, "A Lust of Cupids", "A Scarcity of Lake Monsters" (big WTF there), et al.? I think the list speaks for itself, really.

As a poem, it's not actually bad.


The dogs came in all damp.
Pip's black fur glittering as the snow melted.
It's supposed to be three to six inches.
If it's six,
Then we'll stay home tomorrow.
If it's less,
We have plans with friends we haven't seen in awhile.
Though, if it's a choice between ice and snow,
I'll take the snow.

Strangely, when you arrange it like that, I think the poem is actually better than some of the submissions we got for our journal at school. Heh.

I moved on from poetry to prose, so maybe that's why I can see it to break it up accordingly. Not that other folk can't. Still what if, yeah? It'd explain why she's into 'tight wet wet'. Alliteration.

The first time I read those sentences together, I thought "The dog's fur is supposed to be 3 ot 6 inches? Huh? Why does that matter?"
