Wank the Dragon: Now Crudely Drawn!

For some reason, the mental image of LKH stuffed into a set of armor really tickles me. She'd probably buy it from the flea market or a Ren Faire - something ridiculously overpriced and really flashy with lots of elaborately useless metalwork, made out of aluminum foil and gold leaf. Probably with a helmet made to look like some sort of raptor, and a hole cut in the back so that all her luscious black locks can spring forth like a midnight cape of dark blackness (dark, like a moonless night, like a night that is really black, dark and black like her soul.).

I'm afraid I didn't refine the art too much. I'm way behind on my other comic project and I've got at least two more of these rattling around in my brain.

I totally drew Edward fan-art the other night, too. I feel a little bit dirty.

yessss! blancmange! Since i watched that yesterday, and laughed so hard my eyes started to tear, i've been looking for ways to slip it into any conversations. So far, no one has cottoned on to the hilarity of it, but i'm optimistic XD

The other part that had me in stitches was at the end with the Kraken and it was described as, "the mouth opens like a giant flower - each petal tipped with a tooth!"

Which is even more funny when you know that I keep referring to the Kraken as "the Giant Vagina Monster of DOOM!"

Because, let's face it, that's exactly what it is.

I believe it's from the Tennyson(?) poem, 'The Lady of Shallott'. The line is :

"I am half-sick of shadows!" cried The Lady of Shallott

I love that poem, and nearly all of the art that goes with it :D

You guessed it! I'm quite a fan of Arthurian mythos and Pre-Raphaelite art, and so I have quite a fondness for icons that blend both together.

I did love that Dante Gabriel Rossetti used Elizabeth Siddal as a model frequently (I'll 'fess up that I had to look up her name to make sure I remembered it right), because between the two of them, they managed to convey so many different moods in his paintings.

I particularly like his portraits of Alexa Wilding - see icons - I'm told I look like her :) I love the strong colours, and the central role of women, and the sheer beauty of what they painted. I would so join that community, the last one I found was a bunch of 'models' trying to look like the paintings, and failing miserably :/
